Lisa has worked in government and non-profits in a wide variety of areas for over 20 years, with a focus on housing and homelessness over the past 13 years. She has an educational and professional background in criminology having worked with youth involved with the criminal justice system, women in the downtown eastside dealing with addictions and housing issues and adult offenders in federal and provincial institutions. Prior to joining Mission Community Services Society, Lisa developed the Greater Vancouver grant administration program for Federal Homelessness Dollars (Reaching Home) initially in partnership with Metro Vancouver and later with Lu’ma Native Housing Society. She also helped the City of Abbotsford set up their Reaching Home program in 2020. Lisa takes a collaborative approach to leadership having fostered relationships with all levels of government, Indigenous communities, newcomers, seniors, youth to name a few. Lisa has mentored future and current leaders through the Women in Leadership Foundation, Vancity and the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association. She maintains contact with her previous mentees and derives great satisfaction from their success. Lisa has served on multiple non profit boards with an emphasis on strategic planning and good governance models. In her free time, Lisa enjoys time with her family, dance, music and a good book.
